Accelerating Your Career is an event hosted by AlumNav in collaboration with BOLT, focused on providing youth with insight regarding careers in medicine, business, engineering, and law. With experienced panelists and keynote speakers, Accelerating Your Career not only sheds light on these careers, but also on lessons on how to grow professionally.
In June 2021, AlumNav hosted a professional conference for high school and university students, Accelerate Your Career, in cooperation with BOLT, a student-led organization focused on providing career insights to youth. The event centered around a presentation provided by an accomplished keynote speaker, with the intent of fostering vital soft-skills within students, pertaining to networking and professional environments.
Furthermore, there was a career spotlight Q&A session which allowed students to directly communicate with professionals in the medical, STEM, and law fields, allowing them to receive guidance with regard to pursuing these career paths. The live event featured speakers from fields in business, medicine, engineering, and law, with the recording publicly accessible for all to view.
The keynote speaker for Accelerating Your Career was Farzia Khan, an award-winning community builder and senior manager of Cyber Security Experience at TD Canada Trust. The speakers were Dr. Fatima Bawany, a first-year dermatology resident at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Sophie Sklar, a first-year law student at York University, and Danielle Schroeder, a civil engineering Master’s graduate at Drexel University.
